Class #1
Introductions – Instructors, course outline, topics covered, tools and Time – 10 min.

Workshop set-up and introduction to common bike tools Time – 40 min.
-Bike terminology
Drivetrain cleaning and checking for wear Time – 30 min.
- why clean and check for wear?
- how to clean and check for wear
Chain Installation / Cassette installation Time – 30 min.
- Proper chain length, quicklinks, chain pins, # of speeds
- Cog orientation, types of freehubs, installation of spacers
Rest of class time for questions, guided bike work and clean up of work areas.
Class #2
Derailleur adjustment Time – 60 min.
- Rear derailleur – hanger alignment, limit screws, b-tension,
cable tension, troubleshooting
- Front derailleur – alignment of derailleur, limit screws, cable tension
- Cables and housing – Inspection and replacement
Brake adjustment Time – 40 min.
- different types of brakes (v brake, sidepull, disc, canti.)
Disc brake care Time - 10 min.
Rest of class time for questions, guided bike work and clean up of work areas.
Class #3
Wheels Time – 60 min.
- wheel basics
- wheel truing, spoke tension and spoke replacement
- hubs – cone tightening
- Tires, tubes, rim strips/tape
- Tubeless basics
Cranks, Bottom Bracket and pedals Time – 25 min.
Chassis adjustments Time – 15 min.
- Adjusting headset, stem, handlebars, seat/seatpost
- What parts need to be greased (or not greased) and why
- Torque requirements for bolts
Class wrap up, questions and clean up of work areas
